Getting started
TMS Toolbox opens to a menu of four tools. Tap any tool to begin — there are no accounts to create and no setup required. Everything works offline.
- MTAT — Motor Threshold: maximum-likelihood (ML-PEST) motor-threshold estimation with confidence intervals. Enter your starting intensity and record each response (MEP present / absent); the tool proposes the next intensity and reports the estimated threshold.
- Adaptive PEST: non-parametric staircase estimation of motor threshold using classic PEST step rules.
- Beam F3 — Left DLPFC: enter the three head measurements the method requires; the tool returns the scalp coordinates for the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex.
- EZ-EEG 10-20 System: interactive 10-20 scalp targeting with centimeter-distance guidance measured from the vertex.
Where are my saved files?
When you tap "Save log to Files" inside a tool, the app writes a plain-text (.txt) log of the run into your device's storage. Each save creates a new timestamped file.
iPhone / iPad
- Open the built-in Files app (the blue folder icon).
- Tap Browse at the bottom, then On My iPhone (or On My iPad).
- Tap the TMS Toolbox folder. Your saved logs appear there.
- From here you can open, share by email or AirDrop, move to iCloud Drive, or delete files.
Android
- Open the Files app (Google Files, Samsung My Files, or your device equivalent).
- Navigate to the Documents folder for the TMS Toolbox app, or look under Internal storage → Android → data → com.xeebrah.tmstools → files → Documents.
- Open or share files from there as you would any other text file.
What's in a saved file
Each saved file is plain text containing the tool, the settings used, the full pulse-by-pulse history, and the final estimate. You can open it in any text editor, paste it into a spreadsheet, or attach it to an email for record-keeping. Files are named with the tool prefix and the timestamp, e.g. mtat-2026-05-29_14-32-10.txt. Logs stay on your device until you delete them — they are not uploaded to any cloud or server unless you explicitly share or move them.
Frequently asked questions
Does TMS Toolbox need an internet connection?
No. Every calculation runs on your device and the app works fully offline.
Does the app collect any of my data?
No. There is no analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking, and the app makes no network requests in normal operation. See our Privacy Policy.
Is TMS Toolbox a medical device?
No. It is an educational, research, and calculation aid for qualified professionals and is not an FDA-cleared medical device. Always independently verify any output before acting on it. See the Terms of Use.
Which platforms are supported?
iPhone and iPad (iOS) and Android phones and tablets.
How do I delete my data?
The app stores no personal data on our servers, so there is nothing for us to delete there. Any log files you saved live only on your device — delete them from your Files app at any time. See Data Safety for details.
The method gives an unexpected result — is there a bug?
Please email us the tool name, the inputs you used, and the result you expected. Include a saved log if you have one. We take method fidelity seriously and will investigate.
